Provider Update at Pediatric Healthcare

May 4, 2021

Dear Pediatric Healthcare Families,

We want to give you an update on the provider developments at our office. As many of you may know, Dr. Lauren Doerfler came to our practice in 2019 when her husband was assigned to Maxwell AFB for ACSC leadership training. His training will end in June and they will be transferring to Alaska for his next assignment. Therefore, Dr. Doerfler will be leaving Pediatric Healthcare at the end of June. We are so appreciative of her service to our patients and sad for her departure, but happy for her and her husband as they continue to serve our country in Alaska as an Air Force fighter pilot.

Welcoming Two New Doctors

We are pleased to announce that we have two new physician associates joining us this summer. Dr. David Perry will arrive in June to assume care of Dr. Doerfler’s practice. Dr. Perry has practiced in Tennessee for 22 years and is returning to the state where he did his pediatric training at Children’s Hospital of Alabama. He and his wife, Kathryn, have four children, two daughters and two sons.

Dr. RachelAnn Burkett will be joining us in September after completing her training at the University of Arkansas. She is a native of Mississippi and attended medical school at the University of Mississippi. Dr. Burkett served four years in the US Navy as a medical officer after her internship. RachelAnn’s husband, also a physician, will begin his employment with Baptist Heath as a hospitalist in August. You can learn more about Drs. Perry and Burkett in the Providers section of this website.

Thank you again for allowing us the privilege to care for your children. Please keep our practice in mind as you talk with friends who may need a pediatrician. Nurse Practitioner Brandi Criswell, Dr. Perry and Dr. Burkett are all accepting new patients of any age. Drs. Morrison and Trumbull will continue to accept newborns in their practices.

Blessings,

The Providers at Pediatric Healthcare
